Saraswati EduCounselling started its journey in July 2018. Myself Shibani Joshi. I am the Founder of Saraswati EduCounselling. I completed my International Career Counselling certification course from Unvariety and University of California-Los Angeles (UCLA Ext.) with sole purpose to reach out to maximum number of parents and students globally who are investing their money, time, energy, expectations, dreams etc. without actually understanding how to shape up their future by choosing right career which will give optimum result. The purpose behind it is most of them arrive at career choosing decisions in a very unrealistic manner. This happened with me when I gave my CBSE Board exam when I was in grade 10 in 1983 with sole purpose of simply passing that exam to just get rid of the burden to study the subjects like Math and Science again in case I flunked. It would have been nightmare for me if a failed. The pressure was so much on me because my father was a University Topper in BSc. (Physics). No help came to my rescue other than few remedial and private coaching to just pass the board exam. I and my family failed to identify any other interest or skills that I had then. Naturally I scored average marks and wanted to be a graduate in Arts just to be qualified enough to apply for jobs. There was absolutely no one to guide to understand how and what I can do to achieve best career in the field of Arts or how to discover my own unique qualities. The realization about the mistake that I and my family made about my future hit me only at the age of 40. 

Let my story and many more such unsuccessful stories never repeat with anyone else as now we have the right platform and tools to access each child and provide him/her the right guidance to pursue most suitable career that they dream about.

My vision is to transform each child, each parent very innovatively. They must follow a very holistic approach towards career assessments and invest their resources in education with help of scientific analysis, taking guidance from career counselors. When these same children step into the professional world they should be well equipped with skills, interests, and attitude to deliver their capabilities to their best whether it’s a job or business. The ultimate goal is being very happy in what you do for your professional and personal growth.

I strongly believe each one of us as professional career counsellors can change the face of India, changing the meaning of being educated, moving in the right direction which can help our coming generation with best opportunities and they in turn can help their society to grow much better.

I started my professional career as English Teacher in Davar’s College of Commerce in 1988. I have taught many students from Middleast countries. In 1989 I joined Company by name Rammaica. I joined as a front desk associate. Got good experience in handling supply chain clients. In May1991 I joined The British Bank of Middleast, Fort Mumbai. Working in a foreign bank opened lot more options of learning about various banking products. Interacting with top clients was very enriching. I worked with them for 9 years and then in October 1999 I was transferred to HSBC Head Office in Fort, Mumbai as HSBC took over our bank. Handling corporate & celebrity clients taught me best customer relations. I opted for VRS in 2003 when I felt too saturated with daily routine of job commitments. I tutored students of ICSE and SSC board from 2004 to 2007. In 2008 I joined Words Infocom. I use to do subtitling in English language for Indian movies and series which were made in Marathi, Bengali and Hindi. 

At the age of 42 I launched my Partnership Firm - A Corporate Intelligence Firm (Corporate Trainings and Workshops) in July 2010. During the period from 2010 – 2016 I have conducted various workshops (In-house and External training) Pan India, majorly in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Chennai. My events was attended by all the major clients from Oil&Gas, Power, Pharmaceutical, Construction, F&B, Chemical Industries as attendees. I have Worked with many top rated industry speakers. Had the privilege of working with International speakers too. One of them was from Australian Nuclear Power Station Mr. Howard Witt. With him I have organized workshop of Reliability Engineering. In 2016 I handed over the firm’s entire operations to my business partner.

I completed my Green Belt Certification from Univariety and Global Career Counselor Certification (GCC) from UCLA (Ext.) in 2018. After completion i launched my independent set-up. In June 2019 I launched Saraswati EduCounselling. I have counseled quite a few students from my area Mira-Bhayander (thane), Borivili, Santacruz, Kurla, Kandivili (Mumbai), Hydrabad, Pune.  Also I have conducted free career counseling seminars in ICSE, IGCSE, SSC Board Schools. I was invited at Career Counseling Conference organized by Future Group. I was also invited at S. P. Jain School of Management to speak about my experience as a Career Counselor. I regularly conduct free webinars about importance of Career Guidance. 

I am continuously trying to learn in this field to improve the quality of career guidance. I attend lot many seminars and webinars to learn what are the latest trends in guiding students choose their best careers. I am on social media posting latest news on education system, write blogs, make short videos on career guidance for YouTube channel and also spread the awareness through whatsapp. Our country requires people who can really excel in this field and give the students right career path. My wish is become the best version of myself and reach the rural areas, villages where we need to go and give them the same awareness and provide them the option of bare minimum charges for career guidance sessions including psychometric tests. Eliminating the stress factor for the students while choosing career.

I am also a certified Life Coach trained by Arfeen Khan. Being a Life Coach now has made my career guidance  valuable because I am able to handle the difficult cases much better were either the student or the parent do not come to a mutual understanding about choosing career or attention towards personal development or pursuing with the passion to convert it into favorable career. I am able to bring down the rift between parents and their wards by applying few coaching methods. So yes I can make the student very confident about making a top career choice. I am also practicing Life Coaching to make people very happy in their life.

I am also active in social work field for almost two years now. I am member of Bharat Vikas Parishad (Vedic) Mira Road.  I am also member of Saarthi Foundation (Mira-Bhayander) and hold the position of Joint President there. I mostly take care about Health and Education area.  I have intensively worked for helping people by supplying Ration to them since the Lockdown began. Helped people by providing them their regular medicines. Donated my blood and also conducted many Blood Donation camps to fulfill the requirement of shortage of blood units in government hospitals currently. Working continuously on RTE matter in Mira - Bhayander area. Raised funds for cancer patients for their treatments. I work with the hospitals to help poor people get right treatment mostly for Cancer, Heart and Neuro related issues. The operations that these poor people undergo are free of charge. Make all the necessary arrangements for pre-post hospital admission formatlities also in many cases. Conduct many health related awareness programs even in remote villages outside Mumbai. The idea is to give back to my society my best.
